Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! After losing access to the site I had hosted with 1PlanHost, submitting trouble tickets (with no response), trying to call (only to find out their lines were disconnected) and sending emails (again, with no response), I was finally able to reach a human being!

The thing to do is to call WebHostPlus' phone number, 201-255-0630 and instead of selecting the option for technical support (nobody will answer), select "1" for sales and go from there. Of course, they tell you that they don't handle support calls (apparently, they don't answer trouble tickets either, so what the hell..right?), but at least it's one possible solution. For my part, I talked to Tammy at extension 4012.

Now, finally, I am free from the grip of 1PlanHost and WebHostPlus and their shoddy "customer service". I hope the rest of you are as successful. Happy holidays!

Worst host ever! Additionally to all the ther complaints people seem to be unaware that 1PlanHosts support ticket system is screwed up in a way that other customers can read your account data! Like CART32/Frontpage/Email usernames and passwords!

I never gave Mike Lipford to own my domain name nor be the registrant. He was only supposed to make changes to my current web site and assist with technical changes. He has however, taken over my whole web site and placed it under his control, without my permission. He has now removed my former website. After talking to Jason, one of your employees, he informed me that you all will assist me in getting my website returned to my full control.
I have worked very hard in the past l7 yrs. to obtain my name and website information and hope you will be able to help in this matter.

I hope these people are sued! They are billing me after I canceled a year ago. Can't get in touch with them. I hope for all the people I''ve found that have complained about this company that they have have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. And for all you people complaining about how your web site is down and how you're swithching providers I certainly hope you realize that that means shit especially after you continue to get billed. So cancel your credit card!

I agree with and have expieriences all said problems with 1plan host since their aquisition by Webhost Plus. I have found that, to obtain full rights to your domain name(s), send an e-mail to ICANN (registrar of all domains) at change@secureserver.net and provide all documentation of ownership (i.e. photo id, receipts, etc). I wish you all the best. Do not let this company steal your joy, take back your domains and move on. I will personally file a complaint with the BBB and Attorney General of NJ, write off the expenses as a business loss, allow the law to handle this company, and move on. Blessings and best wishes.

My opinion is the same as all the recent ones; nobody has anything good to say about this host including me! 1planhost used to be a fantastic host but the acquisition by WebHostPlus has seen 1planhost's customers left with a broken service and no support dispite the promise of 24 hr response by the support team.

I persisted with 1planhost throughout their server migrations after the WebHostPlus takeover with over a month of downtime, but when it happened again recently (and is still happening) and I discovered that there is no-one answering support emails or the telephones I have taken action to get out as fast as I can.

Do NOT be fooled by the promises given on the site's home page, do NOT host your site with any web host owned by WebHostPlus; I am thinking that the owners will be facing criminal fraud procedings given their actions, especially given that it appears that all their public statements are outright lies.

I can be a very patient man. But I'm losing my patience (but not my Christianity) over 1PlanHost. First I lost my (church) website, email, and FTP the night before Easter Sunday which almost made me lose my religion. All my Cold Fusion pages quit working and still don't work. No response to support tickets. So I switched to another hosting company but I can't secure my domain name from these guys (1PlanHost). My eMail has been down since noon on 9/18 (today is 9/20) and that hurts me. I feel sorry for you guys whose business relies solely on the performance of their web host. 1PlanHost has let many people and businesses down, including me. That's just not a good way of conducting business.

1planhost has fallen from grace. Recently purchased by webhostplus most shared server customers now find their sites either not reachable at all or only for a few hours out of the day.

Darrell Williams began to let his company slip just before he decided to sell out. He did not let his customers know it was going to happen until it was too late and only after all of the problems started did he mention what had happened.

There seems to be a push for several class action lawsuites, one against Darrell Williams himself and the other against webhostplus.

We have hosted with 1planhost for six years and are forced to change because our site is entirly unreachable. We are even unable to ftp the latest copy down nor are we able to obtain our email customer list or alias list.

We give the lowest rating in all notes due to the fact that we are paying for service that is entirly unavailable.

Please be very wise in considering your hosting solution.

Windows 2003 Hosting Plan - Several Domains - Used only 1PlanHost for all my domains. Loved the company, really impressed me! Now all domains down, email down for several of my customers, our company email down. No response from 1PlanHost, WebHostPlus Webweavers Internet Services, or any other company they are associated with. Signed up for new domain, only 2 weeks ago (didn't realize Darrell sold the company!) and they took my money knowing full well they weren't going to honor their guarantee! To me, that's fraud! I will be contacting lawyers in the Fort Lee, NJ area to see if they agree!

Run away, fast!
The migration was a horror. Now the service is just ok. Tech support, never works. They claim 24/7 support, but the best I can ever get is a '"we'll take the message and someone will get back to you". No one ever does. This is not my idea of 24/7 support.

My story is just like the rest. Multiple trouble tickets, no response. By far the worst company I have ever dealt with. The price was what got me sucked in, and I've had problems ever since. They must run this outfit out of their basement, and when the dryer is turned on the servers go down. My email is down as we speak, it's the only way I make money. I am taking the advice above and checking out the DriveUp people, or whatever it's called. Piss on these punks.

Run away from these guys! Since Web Host Plus purchased them, they have been terrible. Lots of outages, no support mechanism to speak of - for instance, the link to their ticketing system in the command console is broken and the only phone 'support' is a voice mail that is never returned - and they WILL NOT guarantee a return of money even though they scream it on the home page. When I cancelled, I was told since they only operate 1planhost, they do not have to live up to the posted guarantees. RIP OFF ARTISTS!
They also could not find any billing information, so I don't know if they've lost all my personal information and if it will turn up in some scammers or identity theft ring somewhere!
Do not give them any money or your personal info! RUN!

I have been working with 8 companies so far and this one is far away the worst. I left because technical support could not solve an issue with php script, (they admitted that they have no idea about scripting). The issue was not my fault because my site was working fine and suddenly one day stopped. I was trying to make them look into my problem and they were replying with stupid questions blaming me. The funniest thing they mentioned was that there was a broken link on my site and that was causing everything!
Finally when I told them I wanted to leave they wanted to charge me 80$ to get my domain back!
This is what I call blackmail!!

I think that when you come across them you should run away!!!!

For over 2 years I hosted my site with 1planhost, using their $8.95 plan on Windows. A few outages here and there.

Then all hell broke loose. With their so called migration to new servers, my site was restored from a 1month old tape. Lots of data was lost and no response to my emails.

Pretty shoddy bunch of crackpots running this hosting services. Thankfully I kept my domain with the registrar and used DNS to point to 1planhost. Many who transferred their domain cannot get it released. My site gets about 1.5 million hits per month and to have it down for 1 hours is a disaster.

1PLANHOST - folks give this one a big miss. There is zero Bang for your Buck. Webmaster - Ozlanka.com

We had the same problem, 1PlanHost abandoned our websites (along with all their other clients), and several of our ASP and .NET sites/applications. Thank God for DriveThruWebHosting.com, they helped us move our domains from 1Plan and their hosting plans have more features for the same $$. I have been very patient with this company but I have finally reached my breaking point. I, too, have experienced a total lack of customer service for more than a month. Never had a trouble ticket addressed or even acknowledged. Now they have billed my annual cost to me twice in 3 months. No way guys!! NO WAY!

Horrific! Our site has been messed up for a month since a fiasco of a server migration. One email back today from the countless emails, trouble tickets, phone calls and messages and chat messages left (because no chat is available.) The email we received today did not even address the problem we were having. We have always had on and off trouble with email. Sometimes it may take a day or more for an email with an attachment to be received by a recipient. RUN screaming from this company.

I am completely frustrated right now. I thought I was the only one having all of these issues since the migration, but I now know different. I can sit here and list all of the problems I am having but everyone else has pretty much covered it. At this point I would like to know if anyone has any idea how we can get compensated for the time our sites have been down or not fully functioning AND/ OR if we have a right to be refuded for time alreay paid up front for hosting so that we can go with new company! I have 12 sited hosted with them, sadly, I had just renewed 6 of them for another year a few weeks prior to all of this happening!

Since several days I'm unable to access my website. I sent several emails to them. Result: only automated standard replies and no action at all. When you call the support line, each time you end up with the message "all customer service agents are busy" or so. Now I checked the internet whether there is any news about what's going on at 1planhost and I'm shocked what I'm reading there. I only can confirm everything from "total mess", "absolute incompetence" and "total absence of customer support" is true! Every present and possible future customer 1planhost is advised to run away from 1planhost as fast s possible. I also stronly suggest legal actions against this bunch of people who only get your money but deliver absolute ZERO!

Often people will offer a review only when they are tweaked at thier host. In my case, if you look on the testamonials page for 1planhost you will see that I left them a review full of praise and accolades (Jim Spolerich from www.windchimespavilion.com). That review was posted several years ago when 1planhost was indeed a great company to work with. I have been with 1planhost for over 4 years. Darrel Williams had a good feel for what was important for the success of his business and placed customer service high on the list.

Now a new company has purchased 1planhost and has migrated all of its accounts to new servers. The transition was a complete mess. Many websites, including mine, were unable to publish for several weeks. As of today, May 6, 2006 many websites are still unable to publish. In my case, I can publish but I still have email and shopping cart issues. I am not shut down but the situation makes it very difficult to receive orders and contact customers.

Any time a major migration from servers occures one can expect issues to arrise. I suspect most people would be irritated by the issues but those feelings could be mitigated if the new company were to keep customers informed and let them know that their individual issues were being addressed. In our case, the new company has apparently been overwhelmed by all the problems and has elected to totally ignore support tickets. This may be an unfair or inaccurate statement but it is based on my recent experience and the other recent reviews I have read. None of my support tickets submitted by me since April 15 have been delt with or acknowledged in any way. One gets the feeling that 1planhost just left and locked the door.

There are hundreds of website hosts available and some have got a grip on customer service. It would be worth your while to search on "host reviews" and find one that is highly ranked by its customers. At this point it appears that 1planhost is not one of them.

I will be moving all my websites to a new host next week. I suspect there will be a mass exodus by other customers of 1planhost over the next few weeks as well. ...My recommendation to prospective 1planhost customers would be to look elsewhere for your hosting needs.

I have been with this host for the last 3 or 4 years. They have been great but have gone downhill after their soldout to WebHostPlus which is known for its bad reputation. My website has been down for the last 3 weeks. I did not recieve reply to any of my helpdesk tickets. I have posted 3 tickets with regards to the SQL database which is worth months work obviously no reply has ever been recieved. I'm still praying they will reply the ticket and give me the backup.

Stay away from this host.

I have been with 1planhost for over a year, and until a few months ago when they migrated their servers, everything was great. For the last few months, however, I have been unable to publish my site to 1planhost.com's servers. There have been numerous outages and losses of data. 1planhost no longer answers emails or replies to customer support tickets. I have filled out their cancellation form twice and have done everything but beg them to release administrative control of my domain name (which I own). They completely ignore me. The only contact I've had with them lately, in fact, is the bill they sent me for another month's service. I am not the only one in this situation...there are too many 1planhost refugees to count. Only a crazy person would ask 1planhost to host their domain.

I have been with 1planhost for over 8 years (previously burlee.com). I have experienced numerous annoying problems since Burlee sold its hosting operations to 1planhost. A couple of years ago 1planhost decided to change to Win2000 servers and gave me no choice but to upgrade. That transition was a nightmare and ended up in them putting someone else’s pages on my server causing people that keyed in my domain ended up on some Lutheran church web site. Well they fixed it after lots of back and forth.

I have noticed a lot of outages. It happens very frequently (like right now when both of my websites are inaccessible). My email connections are also shaky and I get frequent error messages.

Interesting about email is that I used to have a setup whereby I had one email address that could accept attachments up to 40MB or so while all the others was set to 5MB. That worked fine because I'm working with large attachments. But without warning 1planhost just decided to change the rules and I started to get complaints that people could not send me a 5.5 MB PowerPoint, etc. Despite my pleadings they have not been willing to change.

Well, if that was the only problem I had with them I would not be so negative.

But, in the recent change to Win2003 serves 1planhost really screwed up. In short, they migrated one of my websites content but "forgot" to migrate some image folders containing images that were used for ongoing ebay auctions!! To add fuel to fire, I was no longer able to login using my credentials so I could do nothing but see my auctions dwindle down with bad results. After numerous tickets (most of them got the response "your website seems to work fine") and phone calls I finally got access after 2 weeks!!! But I’m still left with no FTP access. I spoke with a service technician 5 days ago (for the second time) about the fact that I could not use my old FTP credentials. He promised to look in to it and get back. I still have no resolution to that and can not use my FTP login. I probably have to wait forever. And yes, I had been set-up originally with both FTP and FP access!

Another anecdote is that when they migrated the servers both the old and the new servers was to be accessible â€" the old one until April 30. False! My old server could not be accessed (even by their own support technicians) so I could not go back and retrieve the image files which they had forgot to migrate.

As soon as I have located another host that looks reliable I shall change hosting company. I will do this not because 1planhost have had technical problems but because their inability to resolve them. Their help desk is seriously flawed and phone support people do not follow through with their promises, neither do they keep track of an ongoing case so they can retrieve the situation when you call again. I have two websites right now and I'm planning 3 more.

Based on my experiences my recommendation is STAY AWAY FROM 1planhost!!

I am totally dissatisfied with 1PlanHost over the outcome of the recent upgrade. They appear to lack the technical help required to perform the task of moving websites from one server to another.
But what’s worst then the apparent lack of technical knowledge is the lack of customer service, not answering the phone, returning calls, email or responding to trouble tickets.
Darrell Williams - you're losing clients by not providing the customer servers we deserve. Fix the customer service or your losing my business!

By far the worst host I have ever worked with. They recently did a server migration (3 weeks ago) and I still can't add a database to my site. I have sent 5 emails to their support department asking that they look into various issues I have been having, and have still not recieved a response 3 weeks later. Since they still can't get things working I have spent over 6 hours on the phone trying to get them to refund my money, but now I can no longer get a hold of support, sales, billing or customer service via phone, email, etc. I am moments away from calling the BBB. I would never, ever use them again.

1planhost is an average hosting company. Even though they rave about thier customer support and 100% uptime guarentee they lack in both areas. They claim 100% uptime and that you will not just get the run of the mill answer from tech support but that is exactly what you get the run of the mill and if you try to request a credit for an outage they always say that it was not an internal issue and only internal issues are covered.

I have been with them for over 4 years now and have always ended up letting those things slide. It seems that every two years they move to a different data center and put all of thier customers through hell.

They always say that it should be transparent to the end user but it always blows up.

This last move cost many companies a lot of money and when a support ticket was issued there was no response. They always seem to wait until the issue has been corrected (sometimes hours later) then write you back saying they don't see any issue.

We have been looking for a new location, I just don't want to put my customers through our move after they just went through this one.

1planhost has become less than desirable and unless they offer up some fantastic bonuses to current customers I believe they will loose at least 40% of thier current client base, at least the shared hosting. I am not sure if they even have dedicated servers.

I just felt like I should put that out there for others investigating companies to host their site.

Have had intermittant problems in the past but this latest snafu where they transfered their system (whatever you call it) has our company crippled.

I have asked for help repeatedly with no response. We will be changing services.

1 plan host started a migration to different servers over a month ago.
This is my business website and my sole income. My stats show that the website has had NO TRAFFIC since 4/14/06. Further, all of my forms which are my main lead source result in an error page being displayed AND I have had no email forwarding for days.

I called yesterday and spoke to Malcolm who was no help and could not tell me that I would begin to get mail at anytime in the future. I have filled out 3 support tickets for the 3 different issues.
Today I called again and FINALLY got a receptionist who told me to call a Carl Rudell's extension to call.

His mailbox is full and NOT ACCEPTING MESSAGES. Less than 1 year ago, they FORGOT TO RENEW MY DOMAIN NAME when I renewed my annual host plan which also resulted in my business website being down over a week. 6 months ago, they were hacked and my website was down again for several days.
